Harvey balls are round ideograms or pictograms that show different states of a ball with quarters added or subtracted to attain five states between start and completion. They have been named after Harvey L. Poppel, who started using them in the 1970s. They are often used in business reports, documents, and presentations because they show progressive data at a quick glance.

The Fade transition effect has been one of the oldest transitions available in PowerPoint. It is also the least distracting of all transitions and most PowerPoint designers believe that this is one transition that’s even better than no transition at all and works in all scenarios.

The Curtains transition effect was introduced in PowerPoint 2013 for Windows. If you play slides using the Curtains transition effect in previous versions such as PowerPoint, this effect may be substituted with the Fade transition effect.

When Dynamic Content transitions are applied to your slide, the actual transition occurs on all areas of the slide except the backgrounds. This makes your content move independently on and off the screen. PowerPoint provides seven different transition effects within the Dynamic Content category. Do experiment with these options for direction and timing to create some great-looking presentations.
