Imagine that you have a long numbered list that forms the content within your PowerPoint slide. Now, it is not uncommon for slides to have numbered lists that comprise twenty lines, and that is singularly unfortunate because even if members of your audience have perfect eyesight, they won’t be able to read the teeny-weeny sized text!

Working with the Ribbon in PowerPoint 2011 is intuitive to a very large extent, and it certainly involves a little more than just learning to minimize and maximize the Ribbon tabs. In fact, you can customize to the extent of hiding the entire Ribbon altogether, or changing the Ribbon tab color from orange and a more muted gray.

Customizing your PowerPoint Interface is something that lets you place your favorite commands at a position that is easily accessible to you. PowerPoint lets you customize in various ways including adding custom Toolbars and then populating them with commands. In the same way, you can add your own menus, you then populate those menus with your favorite commands.

Customizing of a program interface is always desirable for power users, yet even if you are not a power user, you can still benefit from some basic customizing, this is akin to rearranging your office desk to whatever makes you more productive and comfortable. Within PowerPoint 2011 for Mac, you can customize the interface to a large extent based on your requirements, the ability to add and remove custom Toolbars is one such customization option.

It’s great to be able to customize a program according to your workflow, it’s almost like how everyone likes to organize the stuff on their desks, or even the furniture in their rooms. One of the ways that PowerPoint allows you to customize the interface is via adding custom Toolbars, this can be of great help when you use a certain set of commands repeatedly for your tasks. Once you add a new Toolbar though, it’s time to populate the Toolbar with your favorite commands. You can add, reorder, and also remove commands from a Toolbar.
