Let’s assume that you already used some picture slide layouts from PowerPoint Designer, as explained in our Working With Pictures in PowerPoint Designer in PowerPoint. And now, you want to change the picture used, or even add another picture. You’ll discover that changing pictures is not too easy, because PowerPoint does not respect the proportions of the picture you are replacing, and almost places a new picture without any concerns about visual aesthetics.

Most applications underline everything you select. The process is simple: you select a word, a sentence, or even an entire paragraph, and then press a keyboard shortcut or choose an option so that all the selected text is underlined. PowerPoint behaves the same way, but there’s a difference — not in the resultant text, but in how the text appears. Let us not forget that PowerPoint is a large format, more akin to a billboard than a business card, and text is often projected at large sizes.

So, what if PowerPoint itself showcased these presentations-specific design opportunities or design possibilities for you? You could then choose to apply a possibility with one click, or ignore—it’s your decision. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
