Unlike rehearsing slides, recording a slide show is not something that’s a practice session. Rather, recording slides is almost like delivering a presentation that you cannot deliver in person! Does that sound confusing? Let’s imagine that you cannot deliver your slides in person. You then want to do the next best option, that is to deliver your presentation in front of your computer, almost as if you had a live audience present. All this while, all your narrations are being recorded. Even the time you spend on each slide is recorded along with the time taken for each animation to play.

To learn more, choose your version of PowerPoint. If we do not have a tutorial for your version of PowerPoint, explore the version closest to the one you use.

Once you create your presentation slides, and you are happy with the results, it’s time to practice your delivery, your timing, and your pace. More importantly, it is time to be comfortable with your slides. Nothing can help you better than PowerPoint’s powerful Rehearse Timings feature.

Simon Morton

Simon Morton founded Europe’s leading presentation design company Eyeful Presentations in 2004. His career as an executive for a technology company exposed him to more PowerPoint than was good for him.

He had two aims; ridding the world of Death by PowerPoint and enjoying a relaxing, family future. Unfortunately for Simon (but great for businesses everywhere), his design and storytelling skills made a real impact. His goal was big but simple—support businesses to create more powerful, engaging and effective presentations that make the most of the opportunities and deliver results. Twelve years, thousands of presentations and millions of engaged audience members later, Eyeful’s mission continues.
